Guest: Reese’s Haemangioma Story
My name is Tiffany Zurliene. I live in Dallas, TX with my husband Brett. We were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Reese, on December 13th. She has brought an abundance of love and smiles to our family.
My Haemangioma Story
When Reese was born, she had a very faint spot on her right cheek. My husband was actually the first person to notice it. As a few weeks past, we noticed that the spot was starting to change. It was becoming redder and starting to get larger. As a mother, I became worried. I didn’t know what this spot was, if it was harmful, or if it could be removed. I was also concerned that people would be too distracted by this spot to take in my daughter’s true beauty inside and out. Unfortunately, people can be down right rude. They forget the precious baby is yours and you would do anything to protect them. As time has gone on and Reese has developed, we realized how much more common haemangiomas are in babies. My daughter’s spot has become her beauty mark. I look at it as a symbol of her infancy. I now know that it will eventually fade as she becomes older. I would like to raise awareness of haemangiomas so that parents can find comfort and know they are not alone.
