BabyStyle Hybrid Tandem Stroller: Product Review

Product Review: BabyStyle Hybrid Tandem Stroller

When preparing for your new bundle of joy, it seems there are so many baby products that one needs to buy. However, it could be argued that the most important purchase that you will probably make is the pushchair.

Sometimes compared to being as significant as buying a car, purchasing a stroller is serious business. It’s going to be the one thing that enables you to be independent with your newborn baby in the big wide world. Now, let me tell you, when you have twins to transport, it’s an even bigger decision. There are so many things you need to consider: how lightweight does it need to be in order to push my twins around? What sort of width is suitable for exploring shopping centres? How easy will it be to put my babies in and out of the pram? The list goes on.

That’s when the BabyStyle Hybrid Tandem stroller came into my life.

It’s stunning, simplistic design was the first thing that struck me. It’s practical and beautiful, perfect for anyone who looks for style as well as substance. It comes in a range of colours: Stonewash, Wild Orchid, Pistashio, Phantom Black, Mineral Blue, Lava Red and, the one that we have the pleasure of owning, Simply Navy.

Setting up the Pushchair

Being able to set up a pushchair easily is a must for me. As I usually take our babies out and about on my own it needs to be quick and effortless. With a quick release of the catch the pram is upright and ready to use. Perfect. Needing to accommodate for two babies, the Hybrid Edge easily converts into a double pushchair too, so is perfect for families with one or two babies alike. All four wheels are easy to attach and are quick-release, with smooth ride technology.

Getting Babies In and Out

Now, having two babies to get in and out of the stroller means that this needs to be quick and easy. The leatherette bumper bar not only keeps your babies safe when sat in the chairs, it also has a hinge and a catch that allows you to pull it outwards without taking it off, therefore avoiding squishing your child into the seat with the bumper bar in the way. Also, one of my favourite features is the way you fasten you child into the pram. It is just like a car seat, so all you have to do is clip your baby in and pull the bottom strap and tadaaaaa! Babies are quickly and safely buckled in! Fabulous.

Using It Out and About

As myself and my husband will both use the pushchair, one feature we always test out is the handlebar. Pete being just over 6 foot tall and me being just over 5, variation in height is very important, something that the Hybrid Edge delivers on. It is much lighter and less cumbersome than any other pushchair I have tried. I am able to easily nip in and out of aisles and well as push it with one hand whilst holding a takeaway coffee in the other. Perfect!

If one baby needs to nap whilst we’re out, the comfortable chairs can recline by pulling up the catch that is on the back of the seats. This is the easiest reclining feature I have tried on a pushchair. Other ones that I have used required two hands and a lot of welly to move them to the desired angle. The extendable hood includes a UV sun shade which is perfect for protecting your little ones in the good weather. You are also able to unzip part the of hood to expose the net which allows for a breeze to flow through, keeping your babies cool in the heat.

Packing Away

One aspect that I have struggled with in the past with other pushchairs is disconnecting the seats from the chassis in order to fold away. Thankfully, this is no longer a problem as the seats only require a effortless pull and lift and they’re off. The chassis packs neatly away, perfect if you are limited on storage.

So, clearly I am in love with our new BabyStyle Hybrid Tandem pushchair! Check back next month where I shall be writing my second review on this product. Let’s see how we get on after a month of using it! Thank you for taking the time to read this review.
